How To Unlock The Griffon
A guide to unlock Griffon, a hidden flying mount found in the Crystal Deserts after completing Path of Fire story.
Getting Started
Go to Sunspear Santuary after completing the Path of Fire Story, start at Vehtendi Academy Waypoint [&BA8KAAA=] and once there interact with the Remains of the Last Spearmarshal and answer "I'll see what I can do." This unlocks the "Open Skies" collections which, once completed, unlocks the griffon mount.

Each collection consists of collecting runestones from events, finding and collecting griffon eggs scattered across the map, and buying items from Heart Merchants. There are 10 items in total that must be purchased. Each item costs 25, so a total of 250 gold is needed to unlock the mount.

Open Skies: Sunspear Wisdom
After finishing all the Open Skies collection achievements for the five crystal desert maps, use your Spearmarshal's Plea to return to the Remains of the Last Spearmarshal and place down all the eggs and runes by interacting. Once done, you will receive the Divine Passage, head to the Tomb of the Primeval Kings and reopen the portal by interacting with the tear in reality, at the back of the chamber. This will return you to Kormir's library. Kill elites with the Key Hoarder effect to obtain Kormir's Library Key (need 11 keys in total), so you can collect 11 books on Sunspear history.

Spearmarshal's Lament (Instance)
Interact with the plinth's circling the statue of Kormir at the Sunspear Sanctuary after completing Open Skies: Sunspear Wisdom.
The Champion will summon energy field of AoE damage and receive tar sheilf effect at 75%, 50% and 25% health, making him immue to all damage. Mount up on a Griffon and use it's swoop ability to dispel the shield and the energy fields.

You will now have a new Mastery Tree unlocked as well.
